IAE International Aero Engines is a multinational aero engine consortium whose shareholders comprise Pratt & Whitney (32.5%), Rolls-Royce (32.5%), the Japanese Aero Engines Consortium (23%) and MTU Aero Engines (12%). IAE was established in 1983 to design, develop, sell and support the V2500 engine with approval to produce engines in the 22,000lb to 33,000lb thrust range. IAE currently sells and supports engines for the Airbus A319, A320, A321 and the (now out of production) Boeing MD-90. In the marketplace: Total orders worth more than $40 million; More than 125 customers in 50 countries; More than 43 million flight hours; More than 1,300 aircraft in service; A take-off or landing every nine seconds; More than 5,000 engines delivered or ordered; A new engine production rate of one V2500 per day; Is the preferred choice on the A320 family.
